-Approval to establish a Service Fee for review of Subdivision Plats as submitted to the District for official review and proposed approval with an established minimum of $800.00 per acre, or the reciprocal rate of 68% of the market rate of agricultural water sales, as set annually by the Lower Rio Grande Valley Water Authority; (32% of that value), whichever is more, per acre.
New fees were implemented to address Sup Chapter O requirements obligating Irrigation District to convey water rights to retail water providers according to subdivision platted acreage approved for the Subdivision. Conveyance of said rights is sold to retail water supply company at 68% of market value as set for the year of plat approval.

About Jose Hinojosa

Jose' "Joe" A. Hinojosa was hired as General Manager for the Santa Cruz Irrigation District No. 15 in July of 2013 to replace retired General Manager John Miller. Joe worked for the City of Brownsville for much of his public career as Environmental and Stormwater Manager having oversight of water resources within the City and its ETJ. Joe is a graduate of Texas A&M University College Station/Galveston and is a native of Brownsville, Texas.
